Chapter 119:Decision

“The order I received was to keep Dr. Ph.D. safe,” Jason continued, “and what it means to keep them safe is to provide them with a stable scientific environment where their research can save our country and our people and save the world.”There are millions of Americans waiting for miracles, and miracles will be created by doctors.”

“Now that the area between Orlando and Tampa has blocked our way out and we don’t have a plane, how are we going to get out of Cape Florida?”Captain Matt said that their crew had just communicated in a whisper below, basically agreeing to stay at the base and stay in the status quo waiting for the rescue of Wvarton.

"That's the next part, Mr. Matt," Jason coughed, making his voice a little more comfortable. "Our plan is to take the Fort Myers route, find the ship there, and then cross the Apalachi Bay, where we don't have to fear anything but the wind and waves."

“With all due respect, Major,” Matt said, “from the base to Fort Myers, the straight line is close to 200 kilometers, and if you walk across the Everglades, if you walk, the distance is more than 400 kilometers, and the probability of danger along the way is very high.”

"We have such concerns, sir, as you do," Dr. Mario said suddenly, "but to stay at the base, sooner or later we have to face the problem of leaving, and now we can't access the satellite line on the side of Washington, and it is obviously not wise to wait for their rescue."Since sooner or later it was all about to leave, I felt like, as Major Jason had said, to leave at our best, so that each of us would have a greater chance of surviving, and that New Orleans and Houston would have our institutes and guards the army there.Whether it is the size of the number or the material reserve, it is incomparable here, and the chances of our survival there are not greater."

“Why are you so sure we can get to New Orleans and Houston alive?”“The premise that we can cross Appalachian Bay is that we can find the right ship, and if we get to Fort Myers, there is no ship we want, then our situation will be very dangerous, and Fort Myers will not have such a military base as a fortress to let us hide in it.”

"Yes, Dr." Matt was right, "I'd rather accept the visible future than the unknown result," and the members of the crew echoed Matt's words, and they all thought the same as Matt, who did not agree with leaving the base.

“As I said, the end result of staying here is also to leave, and instead of waiting until supplies are exhausted before being forced to move, it is better to start preparing these things now for safer places.”Mario told the crew that he was slightly tired, and after talking to Jason in the afternoon, he talked to Martin for a long time, which would have been a little bit of energy.

“If it’s all dead, it’s okay to die one day later,” said one member of the crew, who looked at the reactions of others around him, nods and some shake their heads.

"I agree with the words of the Doctor," Hill stood, "and I have seen in a book a saying in the East, that man has no worries, and that the Doctor has not only himself in his heart, but all of us, but all of us, and all of us in America."Think about it, if everyone outside has become a monster, what is the point of living in the base?If civilization cannot be restored and the world cannot be saved, the people who survive will struggle with what they will have to do, and they will be relieved sooner rather than later.”

Jason’s eyes on Hill began to change a little, and both Mario and Martin looked at Hill and were slightly surprised by her remarks.

“Wouldn’t it be more of a day to live, little girl,” said Ms. Jennifer, the crew chief, in the words of Hill.

“If there’s only torture left alive and you still feel that you’ve earned it, then I have nothing to say,” Hill said, making a helpless expression.

Jennifer was slightly angry at Hill's cappants, but years of professional literacy kept her face a dignified smile, and she had a slight contempt for Hill, and she had not paid much attention to their existence.

"Gentlemen," Jason said, raising his voice a little, "the plan has been settled after I've discussed it with my soldiers, and I'm here to inform you that I'm not going to talk to you, but to inform you of the decision."

There were some protests below, and Jason didn’t heed the emotional crew, who continued, “If anyone doesn’t want to leave together, I’ll leave them plenty of food and weapons at the base and wish them good luck.”In addition, I want to tell all those who are willing to follow us, please organize your outfit, bring your trust in us, and we will go on the road side by side.I repeat the planned route, where we will cross the entire Everglades Park to Fort Myers, which, although not as good as the road, can be kept away from the zombies and the safety of our personnel is better guaranteed.”

"What's going to happen inside the base is to shift everything," Thompson whispered, "and it wouldn't be easy to cross the whole swamp."

“Well, I’ve been there,” King said, “but most of the time I was in an air-cushioned boat, and the main threat in this swampy environment came from mosquitoes and wildlife.”

"It's better than the zombies everywhere," Hill said. "It's better to be a trip."

“It’s going to be a tough trip,” Thompson lamented, coming from Texas, where the geography is mostly desert, so he’s not very adapted to the humid climate of the southeastern part of the United States, and he’s facing it for the first time in a swampy environment like this.

“You must follow the big army, and don’t fall behind,” King told Thompson and Hill, “there are a lot of American crocodiles in the Everglades, the largest I’ve ever seen is more than five meters long, and think about it, such a huge body should be able to swallow a whole living person directly.”

“Matt, we should protest,” Jennifer said to the captain sitting next to him, “and the major’s words just now show that they completely ignored our proposals, which is undemocratic.”

“If everyone here comes to a vote, do you think we’re winning big?” Matt asked, his words made Jennifer stop for a moment.

“But he can’t ignore that there are so many people out there who don’t want to take risks with them,” Kevin said, “and he thought that leaving some food and weapons would do his duty to protect us?”

“Why are these big men so high,” Kevin looked at Jason as they left behind, with some anger in his eyes.

“Have you all decided to stay?”Matt asked his colleagues next to him.

The crew were silent, and they could no longer see the insistence on their faces, and Matt sighed and said, "When you go back, hurry up and organize things, carry all the belongings with you, and don't drop anything, because maybe they will save our lives at any time."

“Hopefully, as the major says, that he will bring us safely to New Orleans and Houston, or I will go to the military court to prosecute him.”Jennifer said.

“Is this institution still there?”Matt looked up and looked at Jennifer.

Jennifer looked at him and gave him a look of “talk more to you.”

“Dr. Mario, I’m Hill,” Hill said to Dr. Mario, “and I hope to contribute to your research plan in the coming days, and you know, my friends and I can’t help much at the base, but we don’t want to be so idle.”Everyone is trying, and we don't want to be here as a spectator.”

"I am glad that you think so, beautiful young lady," said Mario, "that your wishes are not difficult to achieve, for the sake of the disaster, we have lost many companions, so there are many vacancies in the hands of men, and I am sure you will find your place in these vacancies, and nothing else matters, and the only thing you need is to have this heart."

"Thank you very much, Doctor," said Hill cheerfully, "I'm really lucky to have met you, and I hope to be around you to witness some miracles."

"You will," said Martin, laughing, "what's your name?"

"My name is Hill, and the girl over there is Kim, and we're a student at the University of Miami School."Hill pointed to King and Thompson and said, "And Thompson, who is from Texas, is a partner we meet on the road."

“Talking more to us, we need the help of all the people in our hearts,” Martin held out his hand to Hill, holding his hands together, and Hill felt that he was holding hope in his hand.

"Jason is very masculine," said Martin suddenly, "Hill, you're really good at it."

Martin’s words made Hill’s face red, and her face showed a girly look of shame.

“I just...” Hill wanted to explain something, but for a moment she couldn’t find the right language.

"No need to explain," Martin said, stroking Hill's long golden hair with his hand, "do whatever you want, it's normal, and it's normal that women who don't pursue need sympathy."

“Thank you, Dr. Martin,” Hill nodded.

"We'll go back first, and you'll go back with your companions early, and remember to get things in order," said Martin. "The environment in the Everglades is not as comfortable as we think it would be, and it will be an extraordinary trip."

Hill returned to the position, and both Kim and Thompson looked at her curiously.

“What were you talking about?”Thompson asked.

“Dr. Mario promised to let us join their research project,” Hill excitedly told his friends. “While I don’t yet know what we need to do with them, we’re finally getting them to notice, and that’s the first step in our success.”

“God, how beautifully,” Thompson said cheerfully, “the thought that I could stand next to the Nobel Prize winners and participate in their research projects, I felt that the lights of the whole of Hollywood were on me.”Thank you for taking this opportunity for me, Hill.”

“Goddess is always looking out for us, isn’t it?”Hill was immersed in joy, and she had a bold idea brewing in her heart.

"Of course, without her care, how can we have today," Kim held Hill, with joy overflowing with words.

“You go back and sort things out first, and I’ll be back later,” Hill said, smiling at Kim’s mysterious.

“Are you going to the doctor?”Thompson asked.

"It's a woman's secret," said Hill. "Go back and wait for me."

“Well, come back early,” King nodded, and Thompson stood up, and the two went in the direction of the return.

After King and Thompson’s back disappeared into the hallway, Hill walked in the other direction.

Jason lay in his room looking at the map in his hand, constantly planning some details of the route. The door of the room was gently pushed open, and he looked toward the door.

“Hill, why are you here?” Jason was somewhat surprised that he hadn’t expected Hill to come to him at this time.

“Jason, please don’t reject me, okay?”Hilchuk said pitifully, "Let's cherish the last time here."
